Who We Are

Writrix is a hub of creative minds–from developers and writers to instructional designers and project managers–focused on providing services related to learning experiences. This female owned company has a team of industry experts with over 100 years of combined experience.

Located in Columbus, Ohio, Writrix was founded by Desireé Hoffman in 2015. Before founding Writrix, Desireé worked as a copywriter in advertising, an editor at McGraw Hill, and an instructional designer in training and development. She has experience working with small startups as well as large corporations, and a wealth of experience in managing people and projects globally. She began working independently as an instructional design consultant and then formed Writrix in an effort to combine services of other industry experts–developers, graphic designers, quality experts, and technical experts–to better meet the needs of clients. What Desireé found is that industry experts don’t have to be competitors; they can be collaborators who provide the best product for their clients.

Writrix was founded in an effort to bring independent training and development experts together to better serve clients. The best projects are not created in a vacuum–they are a collaborative effort of people with varying skills and perspectives. We combine our industry knowledge to create learning experiences, not just compliance courses that check the box.

How We Do It

Our experts will work with you to determine your needs, scope your project, and develop a  plan that will meet your objectives. With a focus on generating learning solutions that align with client needs and company goals, we adapt our approach for each client with tailored learning objectives that achieve behavioral changes for better outcomes. By collaborating as a team–this includes our client, subject matter experts, instructional designers, developers, and other team members–we ensure the materials created set your learners up for success.

We begin every project by defining learning objectives, gathering content that aligns to those objectives, and determining the best approach to achieve your desired goals and reach your learners. This may include instructor-based training, eLearning, or a blended approach. And, yes, this also encompasses virtual training solutions. Regardless of the approach, we will create a deliverable that not only meets your goals but also accounts for when, where, and how you will reach your learners.

We’ll create an outline that provides direction regarding the final deliverable. This outline serves as the starting point of our roadmap.

This is where we map out how to reach your learners. This part of the process is tactical and specific. It includes specifics on learning engagement activities, interactions, and overall course design. In this phase, we will work out the nuances of when, where, and how to reach your learners. We will also determine how to capture their input and track their progression.

Remember, this is a collaborative effort! This is where we get the input of our clients and adjust the roadmap to make sure we have stayed on course.

Here, the rubber meets the road. During development, we provide the final deliverable. This could be instructor materials, eLearning courses, job aids, or whatever materials were determined to meet your needs. The goal with this deliverable is to mimic the experience of the learner so our clients can understand exactly what a learner will experience.

Just because we gave you the final materials, it doesn’t mean we don’t want your input! This is your chance to review the final deliverable and provide us with feedback before we finalize the project.

This is our final checkpoint to make sure we didn’t miss anyone or anything! It’s the opportunity to implement any final edits before we get to the final destination on the map.

The project might be complete from a scope perspective, but how do you know if your learners are using the information you gave them? We can provide additional services to help you determine ways to measure comprehension and application.
